10 Wedding Dresses Inspired by Queen Charlotte’s Bridgerton Bridal Look

by Staff

If you’ve recently binged watched Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, we’re sure you can’t stop thinking about two things: the swoon-worthy romance between Queen Charlotte and King George and, if you’re anything like us, the over-the-top fashion. This season, Queen Charlotte stole the show with her individualistic personality and her royal bridal look, which, to date, is the most sumptuous Bridgerton wedding gown we’ve ever seen.

The specific dress in question? A long-sleeve, corseted pale gold ball gown with light blue and gold embroidery, complete with a sparkling removable blue cape. In fact, Queen Charlotte’s wedding dress has made such a splash that the creators of Bridgerton, in collaboration with Allure Bridals, are set to release a collection inspired by the fictional character herself.

Working alongside Lyn Paolo, the Emmy-winning costume designer for Bridgerton, the collection draws inspiration from the show’s “opulent aesthetic and the bold, regal fashions of the character of Queen Charlotte,” and “will showcase a stunning array of bridal gowns, each capturing the essence of Shondaland’s series with intricate lace details, luxurious fabrics, and exquisite embellishments,” as noted in a press release by Allure Bridals.

However, since the new line isn’t available until December 2023, we thought it might be helpful to highlight a few gowns that have comparable style elements to the Queen’s now-famous wedding day ensemble. Ahead, here are 10 looks similar to Queen Charlotte’s wedding dress.

The sumptuous ball gown, created by the popular brand Alonuko, evokes true royal vibes in the most modern way possible. Complete with a draped off-the-shoulder neck and sheer ruched sleeves, we are confident Queen Charlotte would’ve considered this dress if she were getting married today.
