Makeup Artist-Approved Wedding Day Beauty Products That Are Going to Be Huge in 2023

by Staff

New year, new beauty trends! This past year welcomed earth-toned smokey eyes, beautifully blushed cheeks, and effortless lashes. This year? It’s all about natural looking bridal beauty, according to bridal makeup experts Mali Thomas and Sami Heuer. We asked them to share what they believe will be the biggest beauty trend of 2023, and they both predicted that sheer, luminous complexions—or “skin-like” glam—will be the it-look of countless weddings to come.

Thomas says that glowing skin is a beauty trend that stands the test of time. “I predict this season is all about sheer buttery textures and luminous complexions,” says Thomas. “We want to see real skin instead of just the product that’s applied. In order to achieve this no makeup-makeup finish, your skincare routine needs to take precedence.”

Heuer agrees, stating that “skin-like” glam will be everywhere this season. “Cream and liquid products are extremely trendy right now,” she says. These products give the perfect amount of color to enhance, but not overwhelm, she adds.

If you’re not sure where to start, Thomas recommends using a cream blush for a natural-looking flush. “Cream blush is versatile and has the ability to make the skin look fresh and healthy,” she says. “Shades as vibrant as pastel pink and as bold as chocolate cherry will be applied on all different skin tones this year.”

Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream

Moisture is the key to natural-looking beauty, and The Rich Creamb by Augustinus Bader will keep your skin supple and hydrated on the big day. “If you’re looking to renew, hydrate, and reduce the appearance of fine lines, here’s your hero product!”,” says Thomas. The restorative formula helps add moisture back into dry skin, conditioning and promoting elasticity along the way.

Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush

Heuer swears by this rosy liquid blush by Selina Gomez’s super-popular beauty brand, Rare Beauty. “ I am consistently using on the Believe, Hope, and Grace shades on brides,” she says. She adds that the liquid blushes are very pigmented and a little goes a long way. “It really will give you that natural bridal glow,” she says.

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge For Lips and Cheeks

“Bobbi Brown Cosmetics Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks is a multitasking game changer in my makeup lineup,” says Thomas. “It instantly awakens the skin by adding the perfect amount of soft pigments and luminous glow. My makeup routine is not complete without this product!”

This two-in-one product will also make an excellent addition to your wedding day emergency kit, as it features a compact mirror for easy touch-ups and a lightweight formula that softly stains the lips and cheeks.

Makeup By Mario SoftSculpt Shaping Stick

For a sculpted look that’s not too over-the-top, opt for this fan-favorite contour stick from Makeup by Mario. “This product will give you that effortless, soft sculpted look,” says Heuer. “I love how it’s buildable and swipes on seamlessly for true-to-skin definition.”
