An Intimate Wedding at a Private Ranch With Nods to Texas and Tuscany

by Staff

Andria and Chad have a love story for the ages. Since the two grew up together in San Francisco, California, their relationship started at a young age. But, it was platonic at first. It wasn’t until high school in the fall of 2007 that they became an item. Over 10 years later, on July 27, 2018, Chad and Andria decided that they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together. The duo was vacationing at Andria’s family lake home in Idaho when Chad popped the question.

The couple had always envisioned swapping vows in Italy, but after their daughter was born in May of 2021, they decided to keep their nuptials close by. They chose a private ranch in Wimberley, Texas for their locale. “Just 45 minutes outside of Austin, Wimberley is known for being ‘a little bit of heaven’ with its scenic trails, swimming holes, music, art, and wine,” Andria notes. “We wanted to share that small-town feeling of being nestled in the Texas Hill Country with all of our guests, traveling near and far.”

Their venue wasn’t the only change the couple needed to make. Due to the pandemic, the future newlyweds had to postpone their wedding multiple times. Since Andria is a wedding planner, she was able to call on her industry friends to help orchestrate their special day, amid the uncertainty and changes. “I feel lucky to have built strong relationships over the years with industry vendors I now call friends,” she shares. “It was surreal to finally get to email those contacts about our own wedding day.”

On October 8, 2021, Andria and Chad tied the knot in front of 87 friends and family members, and their celebration included nods to both Texas and Tuscany. Keep reading to see the stunning details behind their big day, planned by Andria Leigh Collishaw and Jessica Shapiro of Andria Leigh Events and photographed by Gracie Byrd Jones.

For their vision, the couple had one overarching goal: to create a party that felt intimate and intentional. “There were elegant details, like the single, long dramatic tablescape, contrasted with more casual vibes, like s’mores around the bonfire and an impromptu end-of-night pool dip by the groom and groomsmen,” Andria recalls. Throughout the weekend, they also fused elements that represented Texas and Tuscany.

Since their wedding was a four-day affair, they kicked off the festivities with a rehearsal dinner at Limestone Terrace Vineyard. For the occasion, Andria donned a silk slip dress with spaghetti straps, a low back, and fun fringe detailing by Watters Designs. She accessorized with cowboy boots by Jeffrey Campbell to represent Texas Hill Country and statement earrings. The bride-to-be had her hair styled in a waterfall braid. “I felt like I was channeling Kacey Musgraves,” she says. Chad looked dapper in a gray suit jacket, a white button-up shirt, and black dress pants.

For their rehearsal dinner, a white linen runner, bright blooms, and votive candles lined wooden tables. The duo had each place set with checkered napkins and a sprig of greenery. During the event, friends and family joined the couple in eating a family-style pasta dinner and listening to live music.

On the morning of her wedding day, Andria got ready with her bridal party in floral robes. For glam, the bride selected natural and timeless makeup that emphasized a fresh and glowing complexion. “I didn’t want to do something overly trendy or have too bold of a look,” she explains. She had her hair tied back in an effortless updo, affixed with a pearl hair pin by Twigs & Honey. Andria finished off her look with light pink polish on her nails and a spritz of Body Glow by Kai.

Andria slipped into a crepe silk dress with lace embroidery, an open back, and a plunging neckline by Something Blue Vancouver for the big day. “This dress felt the most ‘me’—no frills, no sequins, no tulle, and just a touch of lace,” the bride shares. “The silhouette was simple, comfortable, chic, and in my opinion, incredibly timeless.”

After putting on her gown, Andria shared a sweet first look with her dad.

The bride paired her dress with pearl drop earrings from Anthropologie and a rose gold diamond necklace from Blue Nile, which Chad gifted her.

Chad tapped Suitsupply for his wedding attire. He suited up in an off-white tuxedo jacket with peak lapels, a black bow tie, and black dress pants.

We have zero regrets, and walking down the aisle was still such a special moment for us.

Before saying “I do,” Andria and Chad decided to do a first look, so they could take photos and share an intimate moment together. “We have zero regrets, and walking down the aisle was still such a special moment for us since Chad got to see the entire look come together—the veil, the bouquet, and especially, my dad walking me down,” Andria notes. The couple’s labradoodle, Leo, was close by, which made the moment extra special.

The duo wanted their closest friends and family to stand by their side, so they had eight bridesmaids and eight groomsmen. Andria let her squad choose their own dress in a shade from a designated color palette. “The colors and fabrics turned out better than I could have imagined, and I loved how much personality and color each gal brought to our wedding,” Andria gushes. The groomsmen sported black tuxedos, so Chad’s jacket would stand out.

Andria’s nieces served as the flower girls, and wore white dresses with tulle skirts by Etsy with blush floral-embroidered cowboy boots to fit the country theme. The couple’s daughter also played an important role in their nuptials.

A lush hedge featuring hydrangea and garden roses lined the grass aisle. “The ceremony aisle florals were designed in a way to bring all the focus to our vow exchange,” Andria remarks. Instead of an official altar, the couple decided to trade vows underneath an oak tree. Guests watched the ceremony unfold on wooden benches.

Andria waltzed down the aisle with her dad while “Truly Madly Deeply” by Yoke Lore played. The father-daughter duo put their own spin on the ceremony tradition. “My dad and I surprised guests with a tequila shot halfway through the processional before we headed down the aisle,” the bride reflects.

Before the bride made her way to the altar, no one could find the ring bearer, the couple’s dog Leo. Right when Andria was about to start her procession, she called Leo’s name, and he came running toward her. “I looked him in the eyes and said, ‘Leo, go to Chad,’ and pointed toward the direction of the ceremony,” she recalls. “The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. Leo instinctively understood me and went running straight to the ceremony site and cruised down the aisle. We never even practiced this!”

The couple had a close family friend officiate the ceremony, and they recited traditional vows. “Reciting our ‘I dos’ and making our way down the aisle with our little family was a moment we’ll cherish forever,” Andria exclaims. “It felt so special to include them on our day, and after all of the postponing and changing venues, the entire wedding felt like it was always meant to be in Wimberley.”

After exchanging wedding rings and sharing their first kiss as newlyweds, the couple (and their daughter) recessed to “Gold on the Ceiling” by The Black Keys.

To stick with the Western-inspired theme, beer burros and a welcome sign that read “Let’s Party Y’all” greeted guests.

For a nod to their original Italian venue, Andria chose Aperol Spritz for her signature drink, and Chad went with a gin and tonic. Each beverage came with a personalized rose gold mirrored stirrer, showcasing their last name.

Guests found their table assignments on ceramic and terracotta plant pots, which the bride and groom repurposed after the wedding.

The couple and their guests dined beneath twinkle lights at one long table, which was an idea from their original wedding plans in Tuscany. To create the setup, they had 11 8-foot tables connected together and covered in neutral linens. Floral centerpieces, ribbed candles, and sandstone taper candles decorated the tables. For another tribute to Italy, their table numbers were travertine tiles sketched in Italian.

The duo had each place set with cream speckled chargers, folded linen napkins, menu cards featuring each guest’s name, matte charcoal flatware, etched water glasses, and thin-stemmed glassware.

The bride and groom listened to speeches from their friends and family before delivering a few words to their guests.

Andria and Chad shared their first dance as newlyweds to “Help Me Lose My Mind” by Disclosure.

Before cutting into their single-tier buttercream cake, the couple refurbished their wardrobe. Andria changed into a copper silk midi dress by Petal & Pup and sparkly heels by Jeffrey Campbell, and she switched her hairstyle to a half-up look. When debuting her second dress, sounds of the song “Edge of Seventeen” by Stevie Nicks wafted around her. Chad swapped his tux for red swim trunks. “It honestly couldn’t be more ‘us’ in the photos, where I’m making my way toward the dance floor in sparkly heels, and he’s grooving beside me barefoot.”

The bride and groom spent the rest of the evening dancing with their loved ones and hitting the photo booth. Despite many postponements and a location change, Andria and Chad couldn’t have imagined a better celebration of their love.
