Congratulations are in order for Princess Maria Laura of Belgium! The 34-year-old princess tied the knot to William Isvy in Brussels on Saturday, September 10, 2022. The granddaughter of King Albert II and daughter of Princess Astrid celebrated her nuptials in two ceremonies on the special day, according to Town & Country. The first civil ceremony took place at Brussels City Hall and a religious ceremony followed at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula.
At the civil ceremony, Princess Maria Laura wore a chic Gucci mini dress featuring stylish pleats. She accessorized the look with stunning drop diamond earrings, pumps with a bow on the front, and a simple white bouquet. Isvy, who is French and British, looked dapper in a gray double-breasted suit with a blue tie and boutonniere.
For the second ceremony at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula, Princess Maria Laura stunned in the Savoy-Aosta Diamond Tiara and a dress was designed by Vivienne Westwood. She entered the cathedral on the arm of her father Prince Lorenz of Belgium as her bridesmaids, including her sister Princess Luisa, helped lift her 13-foot-long train.
The custom Vivienne Westwood gown was a meaningful choice for the princess. “A dress with great historical influence,” Herve Verhoosel, the couple’s spokesperson, told Dutch media. “The corset and neckline are inspired by fashionable women of the 18th century. The fabric that drapes over the shoulders, drapes and falls from the hip is reminiscent of ancient Greek statues.”
We are wishing all the best to the happy couple!
