Editors’ Picks: 16 Wedding Must-Haves from Women-Owned Brands

by Staff

Whether you’re a couple curating your wedding registry or a family member or friend trying to find the perfect engagement gift for your favorite twosome, there are many purchases you need to make ahead of the big day. Instead of falling back on your usual retailer for all of your pre-wedding needs—for everything from gifts and day-of makeup to guest attire—consider buying from a women-owned brand. Since March is Women’s History Month, there is no better time to support female entrepreneurs and promote gender equality and inclusion while getting all of your essentials for the celebration.

This March, we asked our editors to share some of their favorite products from businesses that women created and run. From floral mules that would make the perfect big-day shoe to zodiac necklaces for each member of your wedding party, we have something for everyone. Ahead, our favorite wedding must-haves from women-owned brands.

“Sustainable swimwear brand inBodi Swim, founded by two FIT grads in 2020, recently launched its first bridal collection. Whether you’re packing for a bachelorette party, destination wedding, or honeymoon, these pieces are the perfect addition. I love the sarong-inspired cover-up. The buttery-soft fabric has a little sparkle for some extra oomph.” — Samantha Netkin Brash, Assistant General Manager

EF Collection initial ring

“I like to think of these rings (made by Los Angeles-based jeweler Emily Strauss) as a cooler, fresher take on the signet trend that was popular for years. Since they’re thin and stackable, you could get your full monogram, you and your partner’s initials, or spell out something like ‘Wife’ or ‘I do’ as a fun wedding accessory.” — Gabriella Rello Duffy, Editorial Director

Goldie mules

“Take your look for any wedding event to the next level with this cute white mule. The adorable floral design by Marina Larroudé is not only the perfect addition to an outfit, but the cloud memory foam sole also makes it easy to dance the night away without killing your feet.” — Shelby Wax, Senior Editor

Long underwear and top

“Negative Underwear’s bras, underwear, and thermals have changed the game for me in terms of feeling cozy, especially in the winter. Their bras and underwear are so comfortable, but the long underwear and tops from their Whipped Collection are quite literally the softest thing I’ve ever worn. I love cozying up in this set at the end of the day, and because the fabric is so lightweight, I always travel with a few NU pieces. They’re so versatile, lightweight, and great for layering! Some of their colorways are so fun, too—perfect for engagement or bachelorette party gifting!” — Ellie Nan Storck, Senior Editor

Studio Tesfaye earrings

“Studio Tesfaye is my go-to boutique for quality, handmade earrings. Its founder, Ruthie Tesfaye, individually creates each piece with innovation and design at the forefront. More specifically, the brand’s ‘Born Stunna Earrings’ are the perfect earrings for brides to wear on the big day.” — Corinne Pierre-Louis, Editor

Lip butter balm

“This cult-favorite lip balm from Summer Fridays definitely lives up to the hype. Infused with shea butter and a subtle hint of vanilla, a few coats of this must-have makeup product will give your lips a glimmer while locking in moisture. Add this product to cart if you’re a bride-to-be who wants to elevate your pre-wedding skin care routine or if you’re looking for a wedding day gloss.” — Lilly Blomquist, Editorial Assistant

Custom NUS sweatshirt

“If you’re looking for custom merch for your bridal party, run, don’t walk, to NUS. I worked with Balim Tezel, the founder of this female-owned business, to customize these ‘Skinny Marg Social Club’ crewnecks for my bridesmaids, and it was a big hit! The sweatshirts are cozy, cool, and easy to personalize for your crew.” — Jessica Chassin, Senior Social Media Editor

Zodiac pendant necklace

“Mejuri is one of my favorite places for affordable jewelry that still feels trendy and luxurious. I’ve bought several pieces from them over the years, but to this day, my Leo necklace from their zodiac collection is my go-to. This (newly updated) necklace is perfect for everyday use and layering for any event. Plus, I love the idea of gifting this to a bridal party based on their sign!” — Araziel Jackson, Associate Social Media Editor

THE GREAT sweatshirt

“There are few things I love more in life than a cozy sweatshirt, and THE GREAT, a woman-owned business based in California, makes my all-time favorite. The College Sweatshirt looks perfectly lived-in and lightly distressed, and they’re such staple pieces in my wardrobe that I’m not ashamed to say I own it in five colors. I even gifted them to my bridesmaids ahead of my own wedding!” — Gabriella Rello Duffy, Editorial Director

Great Jones measuring cups

“Want to add a kitchen essential to your registry that also makes a design statement? These colorful measuring cups from Great Jones will bring more joy to your cooking and look great on display, too.” — Shelby Wax, Senior Editor

M.Gemi heels

“Finding comfortable heels is no small feat. I’ve been loving M.Gemi’s Italian leather shoes for a few years now, and while they are on the pricey side, the quality is amazing, and I love the timeless colors they offer in all the styles. These are perfect for spring, summer, and fall weddings—as a bride or a guest!” — Ellie Nan Storck, Senior Editor

CHRMDbySarah press-on-nails

“I consider myself to be a nail aficionado, and if you’re anything like me, then you’ll love CHRMDbySarah. The brand’s press-on nail sets are not only amazing for wedding guests searching for one-of-a-kind nails, but they’re also great for brides who want to showcase their personality and unique sense of style.” — Corinne Pierre-Louis, Editor

Turkish robe

“Founded by Ariel Kaye in 2014, Parachute has quickly made a name for itself in the home space. Although it offers an abundance of amazing products that are ideal for a wedding registry, an item I’ve had my eye on is the plush Turkish cotton robe. It comes in six different colors and is made with 100-percent Turkish cotton, which makes it the perfect attire to lounge around the house in. To really go all out, pair with the matching slippers!” — Lilly Blomquist, Editorial Assistant

Maker wine

“Whether this is a gift for your maid of honor to thank her for planning your bachelorette party or just a gift to yourself, you can’t go wrong with wine from women-led wineries! With options to select six or 12 cans, you can try a little bit of everything from various female winemakers.” — Jessica Chassin, Senior Social Media Editor

Fenty Skin skincare set

“One thing Rihanna has down is the beauty game. I’ve tried just about every single product in this set, so I can confidently say it will leave your skin feeling and smelling good. This is perfect for brides to add to their skincare routine when getting wedding-day ready. They also come in travel sizes, so you can take this with you on your honeymoon!” — Araziel Jackson, Associate Social Media Editor

Throw blanket

“If you’re an engaged couple wondering what to add to your wedding registry, look no further. This chic and sustainably-sourced throw blanket from Ettitude will keep you cozy on a chilly night and will look so beautiful on display in your home. I love how the oatmeal color is versatile enough to coordinate with any style of décor.” — Lilly Blomquist, Editorial Assistant
